Green Mountain Pipeline Services saves the day – and expense – for a customer
Recently a contractor for the City of Norwalk, Connecticut was digging as directed and slightly damaged an existing 36-inch pipe that flowed into a pump station. With the pipe being 20 feet deep and the groundwater level 10 feet above the pipe, a dig-and-replace repair would be very expensive.
That’s when Green Mountain Pipeline Services stepped in with a solution: Installing a 6-foot-long trenchless point repair.
The pipe needed to be cleaned and televised using our state-of-the-art CCTV equipment that enables us to remotely view and record information.
Once closely inspected it was determined the hole in the pipe was leaking too much to install the point repair without stopping the leak first.
We used a 36-inch packer along with American Chemical Grout Company’s chemical grouting material and stopped the leak.
Once we stopped the leak, we were able to complete the 6-foot-long trenchless point repair. This process saved the customer significant expense. We were glad to help!
